Visiting Washington, DC    Maps and Directions

Parking in DC and on Capitol Hill

Our advice is to take the Metro or a taxi (easily hailed on most streets in DC) as parking in DC is a pain.

Getting to Capitol Hill by Metro
Using the Metro is highly recommended as parking in the area is extremely limited.

Blue Line or Orange Line:  The Capitol South Metro elevator is on the Northwest corner of 1st Street SE and D Street SE.   Take the Metro Blue Line or the Metro Orange Line to the Capitol South station

  • LAZ Parking - select "DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA" then select Washington DC" then click "Locate Facilities"

  • Central Parking System - select "Our Business" then select "Location of Services" then enter 20001 and click "Search"

  • Capitol Hill parking alternatives include on street parking (when you can find it, usually limited to 2 hours, and note that DC parking ticket fines start at $20 and go up) Union Station (open 24/7) (Metro: Union Station) or the Washington Design Center (Metro: Federal Center SW) and taking the Metro to the Capitol South Metro stop, then walking or taking a cab.
